When I found a few different small urchins on our last trip to Hawaii I knew I had to do something special. Instead of using the actual urchin in a one-off to never be seen it again, I cast them to be able to recreate in polymer clay and the result are my earrings, necklaces and even on top of boxes, as cabochons for your artistry and more.
Just 30mm in diameter, I used a blend of pearlescent, green and yellow to produce a Peridot colour or color and mixed in a little bit of glitter to compliment the gold stardust beads. The sea foam and green sea glass beads compliment the green of the urchin and the golden highlights as well.
The Princess length necklace or most common length in necklaces has an extender chain and extends to 18 1/2 inches. Worn at the shortest length it measures 17 inches.
Check out the matching earrings in my shop and shown in the last photo.
PS...if you are ever concerned about ear sensitivities to metal, look to nickel, the most common allergen which is magnetic since it contains iron ore. So holding a magnet to a piece of jewelry will give you an idea. I often purchase components sold as nickel free which turn out to be magnetic which is disappointing, but when I ask the manufacturer am told they are coated, so in general a clasp, chain or beads shouldn't bother you with simple skin contact. When I say one of my pieces is nickel free, then it is. If it has nickel I will tell you and if you have any concerns whatsoever, please let me know.
If you have a design you want translated...I do custom work for both polymer clay as well as for Silkscreens. If you have a black and white drawing ready, message me!
For Tutorial purchases, please download them within 7 days or the link/s won't work and then I have to email you the files. I don't mind doing that but it might take me a day or two to get to your message. So much to do! :D
